A rental is for cases where one SMS code may not be the last. The number stays yours for the whole term, so repeat messages land in the same rental instead of being lost after the first check.
When a rental beats an activation
Rent a number if the service may ask for another SMS code after sign-up, a device change, a login from a new IP or a security check.
- a long sign-up process;
- repeat account checks;
- tasks where losing access costs more than the rental.
What you get
The rental card shows the number, country, service, term, the latest SMS and the available actions. If you only need one code, choose a regular activation so you do not pay for time you will not use.
How to rent a number
- In the bot, open "Rent" and choose a number; on the website, switch the catalog to "Rental".
- Choose the service, country and term: the price and the cancellation terms are shown before you pay.
- Enter the number on the service and request the code: messages appear in the rental card at once.
- The card keeps every SMS and the end date; you can extend the rental there too.
Rental terms
Numbers can be rented for 2, 4 or 12 hours, for 3 or 7 days, or for a custom term from 1 to 90 days. Longer rentals by weeks and months are available too. The minimum term and the options depend on the country and service, and you see them before you pay.
Extension, reminders and automatic renewal
When extension is available, you can extend a rental right from the number's card. To keep the number without thinking about it, turn on automatic renewal: 3 hours before the end the rental is renewed for the same term at the current price, as long as your balance covers it and the price has not gone up by more than 20%. Otherwise nothing is charged and you get a notice in time to extend it yourself. Without automatic renewal, the bot reminds you 24 hours and 3 hours before the rental ends.
A full rental for any service
A regular rental is tied to one service. A "full rental" receives SMS from different services on one number. Pick it in the list when it is available for the country.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation terms depend on the number and are shown before you pay. Some rentals can be canceled with a refund to your balance from 2 to 20 minutes after purchase, as long as no SMS has arrived. After that no refund is possible, even if the code did not come.
What a rented phone number is good for
- accounts that may ask for a code again: on a new device or during a security check;
- sign-ups that stretch over several steps and days;
- messengers where the number is the account;
- work and test flows that need one stable number.
If you need a single code, choose a one-time activation: it is cheaper.
Rentals and the API
For regular tasks, combine rentals with the API: numbers are bought and monitored from your own process.
Frequently asked questions
When do I need to rent a virtual number?
When the service may send another SMS code to the same number: on a new login, a security check or account recovery.
How is a rental different from an activation?
An activation is meant for one code. A rental keeps the number yours for the chosen term and suits repeat SMS.
Can I receive several SMS?
Yes. Every incoming message on a rented number is shown in the rental card in the bot and in the web account.
How much does a rental cost?
The price depends on the service, the country and the term, and it is shown before you pay.
Can a rental be extended?
Yes, when extension is available for the number. You can also turn on automatic renewal: 3 hours before the end the rental is renewed for the same term if your balance covers it.
